      Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (“Zhiguang Energy Storage”) has achieved consecutive successes, receiving two major industry awards for its deep expertise and ongoing innovation in energy storage: the Third Prize of the 4th Advanced Energy Storage Technology Innovation Challenge by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the First Prize of the Technical Invention Award by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society.

      On December 19, 2025, the Finals of the 3rd Energy Electronics Industry Innovation Competition and the 4th Advanced Energy Storage Technology Innovation Challenge were held in Liyang. Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Industry Development Promotion Center, the competition focused on advanced energy storage technologies and industrial application challenges. Covering multiple tracks, including solar PV and new energy storage products, it attracted leading companies and universities nationwide. The event awarded 9 first prizes, 16 second prizes, 27 third prizes, and 35 excellence awards, highlighting China’s vibrant innovation and technical strength in the emerging energy storage sector.


      Zhiguang Energy Storage, together with Inner Mongolia Chuangyuan Metal Co., Ltd., submitted the project “Research on Key Technologies for Multi-Unit Combined Black Start Based on Networked Energy Storage”, which won the third prize.


      The project addresses core networked energy storage applications and solves technical challenges in multi-unit combined black start. It can increase green energy utilization in high-load industries by 8–10%, reduce annual renewable energy curtailment by ~100 million kWh, save ~30,000 tons of standard coal, and cut ~78,000 tons of CO? emissions.

      As the world’s first demonstration of a networked, cascaded high-voltage energy storage system combined with coal-fired units for black start, and the largest user-side networked storage project in China, it provides a successful model and technical support for “zero-carbon grid” and “direct green power connection” initiatives.


      On December 20, 2025, the 2025 Mechanical Science and Technology Innovation Development Conference and Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, was held in Shanghai, where the 2025 winners were announced. Among 541 recognized projects—including 5 special prizes, 49 first prizes, 232 second prizes, and 255 third prizes—the project “Key Technologies and Applications of Large-Capacity High-Voltage Direct-Connected Battery Energy Storage Equipment”, jointly submitted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhiguang Energy Storage, and China Southern Power Grid, won the First Prize of the Technical Invention Award.


      The Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award is the highest national award in China’s mechanical industry, recognizing achievements in theory, invention, and research with practical value for productivity enhancement. Established in 2001, it serves as a key channel for mechanical industry projects to apply for the National Science and Technology Award, with many winning projects later receiving national recognition, significantly advancing technological progress and application of new products and technologies.

      These two major awards reflect Zhiguang Energy Storage’s long-term commitment to technological innovation. The company continues to lead breakthroughs in high-voltage direct-connected technology and networked energy storage, developing core technologies with independent intellectual property rights. To date, its cascaded high-voltage energy storage technology has been implemented in over 20 large-scale demonstration projects nationwide, each exceeding 100 MWh, with cumulative operational capacity over 10 GWh, building deep practical experience and technical expertise.


      Zhiguang Energy Storage will leverage these awards as a new starting point to further increase R&D investment, advance core energy storage technologies, and continuously enhance the competitiveness of its products and solutions, contributing to the high-quality development of the energy storage industry and supporting China’s dual-carbon goals.
